Baby Elephant rescued from Well!

Awaiting Rescue!

On Thursday, November 25th early in the morning, a baby elephant got stuck in a local village's water well, which wasn't covered up. At around 5:30am, local villagers on the way to draw water from the well, found the baby elephant in the well and unable to get out.

The villagers immediately called a near by Nsefu Wildlife member named Jonathan, and he relayed the message to the Nsefu Wildlife team, CSL and DNPW.

The rescue took place around 8am and once the recuse was complete, the baby elephant was taken to the Chipembele Wildlife Education Trust for care, which is run by Steve and Anna Tolan. The last update from CWET stated that the baby elephant is doing good.
