The official handing over of our secondary school to THE Department of Education!

Our Secondary school was officially handed over to the Zambian Department of Education on Friday, December 1st! It is customary for this to happen in Zambia as the Department of Education oversees all education in the country. There was a massive celebration and the opening of the official handover THAT kicked off with the Secondary Student Choir.

The event was attended by the following authorities:

  • Senior Chief Nsefu

  • Mr. Peter Phiri, the provincial Minister, Eastern Province

  • Mambwe district Commissionaire

  • Mambwe Director for Ministry of Education

  • Chairperson of the Nsefu day secondary school

  • Nsefu local councilor and some many others.

  • Nsefu Wildlife Co-Founder & local team

Education is revered in Africa and people joyously sing when a school is opened bringing a brighter future to their children! And this is another opportunity for us to reach kids about the value of their beautiful wildlife and environment with our conservation education! Thank you to our wonderful partners, Park Lane International School and Project Luangwa!

Day Secondary School Handover Pre-Celebration

Youth education and community outreach are the means by which residents can be taught to support anti-poaching efforts and learn about conservation.

Nsefu Wildlife teamed up with Parklane International School to build a much-needed secondary school in the Nsefu Sector. Project Luangwa helped fund the toilets for the teachers and kids.

Conservation Club students danced in celebration, see video below, and the entire community was excited and proud of their new school where conservation education will be part of the curriculum. YOUR donations at work helping people AND wildlife!!
