New Biofencing (Beekeeping)!

Team member installing biofencing

On Monday (7/21), team Nsefu Wildlife spent the day installing new biofencing at a new site. This site was picked after extensive consultation and engagement with local community members. They pointed out that this area is a hotspot for elephants to invade crops.

This is an extension to and already existing bio fence, but this portion of the fence will be using metal poles to ensure that we don't cause further deforestation in the region.

We're hoping that the fencing will be completed by the following week, and our goal is to install 400 meters of fencing, which will secure 10 maize (corn) fields of various households.

The beehives boxes will be made of high quality hardwood, which is termite proof.

More updates to come.
